Meet Lewis
With over 20 years of experience in dog sport and training, I bring a wealth of knowledge, passion, and dedication to helping dogs and their owners build strong, trusting partnerships. I specialise in obedience and protection training, focusing on creating clear communication and confidence in both dog and handler.
In 2020, I achieved the title of National Champion in IGP dog sport and have proudly competed at the WUSV World Championship three times with my German Shepherds. I also hold an A-licensed Helper certification, reflecting my experience and technical skill in protection work at the highest levels of the sport.
Alongside my own competition success, I have coached multiple handlers who have gone on to compete at World Championship level, helping teams reach their goals through supportive, structured, and effective training methods.
While I have extensive experience in high-level sport and working dog training, I am equally passionate about helping everyday dog owners. My training approach is tailored to each individual dog and handler, with a focus on building positive relationships, improving behaviour, and helping dogs become well-mannered and enjoyable companions.
Whether you are looking to develop advanced training skills or simply want help creating a better bond with your dog, I am committed to providing professional, friendly, and results-driven training.

Training Techniques
My training focuses on structured, clear communication so dogs understand exactly what is expected of them. I use reward-based principles, motivation, and clear markers to guide the dog, while tailoring the training to each individual dog’s natural drives and strongest qualities. By building on what the dog does best, I aim to create confidence, clarity, and consistency, helping both dog and handler succeed across all areas of training.

Coaching people how to train and understand their dogs. Seeing a handler learn how to communicate clearly with their dog and watching that relationship grow is incredibly rewarding. It’s not just about teaching a dog new behaviours, it’s about helping owners gain the skills and confidence to train their own dogs successfully and build a stronger partnership together.

The ‘hold’, as it’s one of the most important parts of protection work and also carries the most points in competition. It requires the dog to show control, confidence, and clear understanding of the task, holding the sleeve without chewing while staying focused and ready to work. When trained correctly, it’s a great demonstration of the dog’s balance between drive and discipline.
