Meet Alex

My journey with dogs began at the age of 9 when I started training my mischievous Border Collie, Basil. Although a handful, Basil ignited my passion for working with dogs. As a kid, I’d often spend time with my neighbour training his Labradors and Springer Spaniels for gun dog work.

After joining the Marines and serving until I was 22, I got my first German Shepherd, Dylan, which deepened my fascination with IGP training, including tracking, obedience, and protection work. Dylan went on to become a police dog, and I began raising puppies, many of whom would go on to work in police or prison settings.

I welcomed Brody, a 14-month-old German Shepherd, into my life. His journey was remarkable; despite having been owned by four different police dog handlers and having a history of being dangerous (he even sent me to the hospital multiple times!), his transformation caught the attention of many, and my skills in handling challenging dogs began to gain recognition. At the same time, I also owned Lolly, my Staffy, whom I rescued from the RSPCA just a couple of months after getting Brody.

During a time when dog training was not as widely recognised as it is today, I sought out the best trainers both in the UK and across Europe to expand my skills. I also took on the challenge of working with dogs that other trainers would avoid, gaining hands-on experience with over 10,000 dogs over the last 15 years. I specialise in transforming the behaviour of the most difficult dogs. I also held a B Grade Helper License and Tracklayer Certification.

A pivotal moment in my career came with Jango, my German Shepherd. I trained him to the highest level, leading to winning the Great Britain All Breeds National Championship and German Shepherd National Championships and multiple other titles. This success saw my dog training business grow over the past 8 years to mentoring dog trainers, world championship competitors, and also establishing an online retail store for dog supplies.
