Meet Aidan
Growing up around working and police dogs, I was immersed in the world of dog training from an early age. My father was an instructor in the West Yorkshire Police Dog Section and a judge for IGP dog sport. After his retirement, my parents took over a boarding kennels and cattery, allowing me to gain hands-on experience with hundreds of dogs of all breeds and sizes.
At 14, I began learning helper work for IGP, quickly developing a passion for dogsport. Throughout college and university, I joined numerous IGP clubs and had the privilege of learning from some of the most successful and respected trainers in the UK and Europe. I also earned my A-licensed helper certification.
While completing my undergraduate dissertation in psychology, I decided to buy my first dog, a working-line German Shepherd named Orry, and began training him for IGP. In 2021, I graduated from the University of Exeter with a master’s degree in Animal Behaviour.
My diverse experience includes working as a pet dog trainer, assisting owners with behaviour modification both on a 1-2-1 basis and through residential training. I have also helped individuals achieve qualifications in various dog sports, trained and handled dogs for film and television, served as a dog warden, and rehabilitated dogs in local rescue centres.
In 2022, I had the opportunity to compete in IGP with my dad’s dog, Brody. We won the FCI world championship qualifier, securing first place to represent Great Britain. Unfortunately, due to injury, we couldn’t attend the event. After extensive treatment and rehabilitation, we earned a spot on the team representing Great Britain in the 2023 WUSV World Championships in Hungary, finishing within the top 50 in the world. In 2025, I qualified second at the British FCI world championship qualifier.
Training Techniques
Grounded in reward-based training techniques, we combine science-based dog behaviour methodology, motivation and markers with real-life proven and nuanced practical methods. We aim to achieve the most clear and concise communication with our dogs as possible, enabling us to set boundaries and train to both ours and our dog’s full potential.
